Kung Hei Fat Choi

January 26 is Chinese New Year. If you happen to visit any of the SM Supermalls these days, the ambiance is all Chinese. Nice red lanterns!!! (red is my favorite color)...even the ambiance music is in Chinese. In MOA, they wrapped a post with chinese horoscope & its very popular. A lot of people pause & read whats in store for them this Year of the Ox .....well everybody seems to be conscious if the Year of the OX will bring us good or bad luck.

At SM Hypermarket, 3 branches (North Edsa, Pasig & Mall of Asia) will mark the celebration with Lion/Dragon dance and to summon more luck & fortune, Chef Bruce of Lee Kum Kee will conduct a cooking demo for a traditional and popular new year dish of the chinese call "YEE SANG". Yee Sang is a celebratory dish eaten during Chinese New Year. Each ingredient of this dish carries its own significance, usually to do with abundance, prosperity, wealth & blessings. There is a beautiful harmony of textures & flavours in this dish - sweet & salty, crunchy & soft, delicate & bold.

Participate in the Yee Sang good luck toss & shout "low hei". (Chef Bruce will explain the significance of the dish during the demo)....Celebration begins January 25, the eve of Chinese New Year at Hypermarket North Edsa (10:45 am), Pasig (2:15pm), MOA (4:15pm).
